: Genelia was born in England to Jeanette D`Souza, formerly a Managing Director with a pharma MNC, and Neil D`Souza, a senior official with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Her family hails from Mangalorean Catholic community.
Genelia did her schooling from the Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra and later joined St Andrews College (Bandra) to complete her Bachelor`s Degree of Management Studies. She has been a State level athlete and a National level Football player.
Even though she debuted in 2003 with her movie ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’ opposite Ritesh Deshmukh, her big break came only with her act in ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ in 2008, opposite Imran Khan. She has many Telugu, Tamil and Kannnad movies to her credit.
Best known for: The south Indian beauty is best known for her act in ‘Janne Tu Ya Jaane Na’ as Aditi Mahant, better known as ‘Meow’ in the movie.
